***On Small Business Saturday, I did a demonstration on the Folded Corner Clipper Ruler by Creative Grids.
If you have trouble sewing your binding strips at the angle... this ruler can really help!
It allows you to cut the correct angle and leaves the 1/4 inch seam allowance you need to line your strips up perfectly every time!
I have attached a handout that I made up for the ruler in case you are interested in trying it.

"Cindy Bag"

Presentation by Cindy M.

Supply list to be provided at December Meeting

CINDY’S BAG (a version of the original Mondo Bag)

The original Mondo Bag uses the Quiltsmart Mondo Bag Interfacing and 2 ½ inch fabric squares.  I am too lazy to do all that fusing and sewing, so I came up with a couple of options.  Please complete the following before the January meeting:

Make four pieced or solid fabric panels (for the outside of the bag) quilted to a piece of batting only.  Sizes of the panels can vary – the 8” x 26” makes a large deep tote.
Quilted fabric panels can be made of strips, any size squares, mix and match pieces*  – be creative, let your imagination run wild!

*When using strips, I sewed the strips on a piece of batting using the sew and flip method.  When using squares, I sewed the squares together and then quilted them to a piece of batting.  You could even do a “crazy” quilt pattern.
Cut four panels of lining the size of the outside panels after quilting.
Make two handles (any method you normally use) – approx. 2” x 27” finished, ready to be attached to the bag.
Bring the four outside pieces of the bag, the four lining pieces, and two handles to the meeting along with your sewing machine, basic tools, and coordinating thread for top stitching the bag.

(Call or email Cindy if you have questions)
